SWAMI VIVEKANANDA HIGHER SCONDARY SCHOOL, PANDANAD, CHENGANNUR

The School was started in 1947 in Pandanad on the banks of the Holy River Pamba by Brahmasree Vasudeva Bhattathiri of Mithramatam. Name of the School was SreeMithrasadanam. It was started as a Middle School (Upper Primary) and the first Headmaster was Sri R. Velayudhan Pilla.

The School was upgraded to SreeMithrasadanam High School in 1950. Sri P.N. Ramanpilla was appointed as the Headmaster and Brahmasree Vasudeva Bhattathiri continued as Manager.
Number of Students increased and new Buildings were constructed.

A Society named Swami Vivekanda Educational and Charity Trust was registered in 1983 with Sri Manjanamatam Narendran Nair as President and Sri .VS. Unnikrishnapilla Veliyath as Secretary of the Adhoc Committee. Sri KP Krishnan Nair Palazhy, M. Vasudevan Nair Lakshmi Mandiram, K. Narayanapilla Kannankara, VG Gopalappaicker Vanmazhy, PK Purushothaman Unnithan Saradalayam were Committee Members. The ownership of the School was transferred from Mithramatam Family to the Society.

The School was renamed as Swami Vivekananda High School and Sri Narendran Nair Manjanamatam was elected as Manager of the School. After his death, Sri KP Narayanan Nair of Geethanivas was elected as Manager, who served for 14 year. The School also started Government approved English Medium Divisons which improved the standard of Education in the coming years.

The School was upgraded to Higher Secondary in 2014 with Science and Commerce Batches. There are 12 Teaching Staff and 2 Non-teaching Staff.

SVM SCHOOL

SVM School was started in 1993 with 23 students and one teacher under Swami Vivekananda Educational Charitable Society and today it is functioning with more than 200 students, 11 teachers and 5 non-teaching staff, with emphasis on excellent primary education from nursery to class IV.
